By Air
There are flights to Kefalonia from the Athens Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" although in summer the airport handles a number of charter flights from all over Europe.

By Car & Boat
If you choose to visit Kefalonia by car, you have 3 choices.
You can drive from Athens to Patras, road trip lasts about 2 and a half hours and you can take the ferry for Sami Port.
You can drive from Athens to Kyllini, trip lasts about 3 and a half hours where are ferries going to Poros Kefalonia.
If you are driving from northern Greece you need to take Egnatia Odos towards Igoumenitsa and then drive southwards and you could take the ferry from Astakos to Sami Port.

By Bus
There are daily departures from Athens to Kefalonia, from Kifissos Terminal Station in Athens.
